Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum publishes its 2021/22 work plan

In July 2020 the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum (DRCF) was set up to regulate digital platforms, bringing together the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA),  Ofcom, and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The DRCF has published its 2021/22 Work Plan setting out a roadmap for how all three regulators will increase the scope and scale of their co-operation, with a focus on three priority areas:

  1. Responding strategically to industry and technological developments;
  2. joined-up regulatory approaches; and
  3. building skills and capabilities.

In addition, the 2021/22 Work Plan said that the DCRF will be taking steps to strengthen its wider stakeholder engagement and transparency and to further develop the functioning of the DRCF to support its ambitions. A progress update and report will be published in 12 months.

DRCF also announced that from 01 April the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will become a full member after a year as an observer member.
