The results are in for the Broadband Genie Home Broadband Survey 2016…
…and the winner is…
Virgin Media, who just edged out Plusnet and Sky into second and third place respectively.
Virgin Media scored particularly well on reliability and speed satisfaction in the survey which questioned over 6,000 broadband users. In its fourth year, Broadband Genie’s survey saw 2015’s winner Plusnet receive accolades for most recommended and best value, while Sky won in the customer care and technical support categories. Also winning an award was BT, which had the highest rated home Wi-Fi router.
Virgin Media missed out on awards from the judging panel that included BSG CEO, Matthew Evans, with Fuel Broadband scooping the best budget provider award and Sky picking up the prize for best bundle operator. Relish again picked up the award for most innovative award for its 4G wireless broadband offering in London.
This year also saw two judges awards for streaming services. Sky Go just lost out in both categories to Netflix in the best streaming category and BBC iPlayer in the best catch-up service.
